Empowering Future Leaders in Patient Safety Research: Introducing the GM PSRC Development Award Holders

by | 13 Aug 2025 | News, Research | 0 comments

We are delighted to welcome the first cohort of six Patient Safety Development Award holders to the NIHR Greater Manchester Patient Safety Research Collaboration (GM PSRC). These outstanding individuals demonstrated their commitment to improving patient safety through their research and professional roles. Their work spans across various healthcare settings, from clinical practice to research and innovation.

“Offering the Award scheme highlights our commitment to identifying and em powering individuals to pursue their interest in patient safety research and to develop their careers. By embedding Award holders within our GMPSRC research themes with supervision from our experts, we aim to support development of their research skills and help them meet their goal of preparing NIHR Career Development funding applications addressing important patient safety challenges. Our six Award holders are spread across the East Midlands and North West regions and have diverse backgrounds including nursing and pharmacy, which reflects our mission to support professions under-represented in patient safety research careers. We wish the Award holders every success during their placements with us!”

Richard Keers, Academic Career Development Lead at the NIHR GM PSRC

We congratulate all our awardees and look forward to the impact of their research in advancing patient safety!
